Division President
Reports to: CEO
Reporting directly to the CEO Chartwells Higher Education USA, this position will serve as an essential member of the Chartwells executive leadership team. The DIVISION PRESIDENT will be responsible for driving revenue and maximizing growth opportunities for the Sector. This role will also provide direct leadership in production, logistics and people support while reaching the Company s goals. The DIVISION PRESIDENT will devise and execute against strategic initiatives along with advancing the service business resulting in higher earnings as the marketplace leader. This position is based in the eastern part of the United States.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
The primary role of theDIVISION PRESIDENTfalls into five broad categories:
1. Revenue and Profitability Leadership
Shape and develop Sector strategy and organization
+ Plan, develop, and implement strategies to increaseChartwellsrevenue and profits within the Sector.
+ Drive and liaise with Sales and New Business Development team to increase pipeline and wins.
+ Identify, advance and improveChartwellsposition in the marketplace.
+ Manage operations to ensure production efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources.
+ Achieve/exceed budget plans.
+ Identify and leverage internal sales opportunities (example: cross-selling and leveraging relationships to provide services in other Company/Sector lines of businesses).
2. Environmental Scanning and Strategic Context
Advise the CEO/CFO on strategic business development and key corporate planning opportunities that positively impact the overall business
+ Understanding and alignment with regulations, trends, and requirements.
+ Identify acquisition and merger opportunities and direct implementation activities.
+ Review activity reports and financial statements to determine progress and status in attaining objectives, and revise objectives and plans by current market conditions.
+ Attain proper pricing; develops new business.
+ Determine resource allocation within the Sector.
+ Keep COO apprised of all business activities, performance, challenges, and recommended courses of action.
+ Develops new platforms; assists in implementing purchasing, marketing, sales and people related programs
3. People, Performance, and Culture
Drive the organization initiatives supporting people, overall organization performance, and maximization of culture for the organization
+ Attract, develop and retains top talent.
+ Build and solidify an organizational culture in which passion for continuous improvement is characteristic.
+ Challenge basic assumptions underlying the Sector's operations, people and culture.
+ Act as a thought leader for all Associates to include other Sector leaders.
+ Develop management and human resources strategies based on past experiences, considering changing market/labor conditions.
4. Account Retention
Set performance goals tailored for the regions within the area of responsibility in the sector
+ Eliminate lost business.
+ Maintain and strengthen existing client/customer base.
+ Develop operational goals for the Sector which are innovative, yet obtainable, and tied to short and long-term goals for the business.
5. Innovation and Operational Excellence
Create a hybrid approach of cost containment, operational throughput, and a stable workforce
+ Equip management team to operationalize business strategy, implement change in their business processes and systems, and maximize value over the life of the business model.
+ Maintain sustainable cost reduction efforts and workforce stability.
+ Incorporate logistics and workflow diagnostics to drive efficiencies, accuracy, quality assurance, and on-time deliveries.
+ Establish cost-effective controls including operating costs, quality control, and scope.
+ Employs Lean/Six Sigma processes and tools in data formulation, documentation, project execution, deliverables, and reporting
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
+ Knowledge of strategic planning and execution.
+ Robust familiarity regarding foodservice systems.
+ Ability to demonstrate leadership capabilities over de-centralized locations.
+ Thorough understanding of contracting, negotiating and change management; examining and re-engineering operations and procedures.
+ Competency for developing and managing resources.
+ Aptitude for analyzing and interpreting financial data.
+ Awareness of public relations principles and practices.
+ Capability to develop and deliver presentations to internal and external customers/clients.
+ Strong community relations, sales, and marketing dexterity.
+ Ability to identify and secure funding/revenue sources.
+ Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal savvy skills.
+ Ability to motivate teams and simultaneously manage several competing initiatives.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
+ Bachelor's degree, MBA desirable.
+ Lean/Six Sigma and continuous improvement knowledge preferred.
+ Proven track record of multi-unit operational experience with a portfolio of at least $350 million or greater.
+ Demonstrated adeptness in advanced food production procedures and delivery of food.
+ 8 to 12 years of progressive managerial and significant financial experience.
+ Excellent presentation skills at the DIVISION PRESIDENT level.
+ Proven ability to drive client and customer satisfaction.
+ Established proficiency in developing and implementing new business models.
+ Demonstrated aptitude for managing a team at the VP/Sr Director level or above.
+ Ability to travel extensively (up to 80% of the time).
