EH and S Manager

Hours: Monday : Friday, 8:00 a.m. : 5:00 p.m. / On Call 24/7 Must be flexible.

DNP Imagingcomm America Corporation is a wholly owned Japanese subsidiary established in Concord, NC in 1995. Today, we coat jumbo rolls, slit and package ID card and photo ribbons used in printing applications; as well as develop software, deploy photo printing kiosks, integrate systems and provide support for our products.

General Statement:

The Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and monitoring environmental and safety management programs. Under direction of the Vice President of Operations, the EH and S Manager will ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements while focusing on continuous improvement of EH and S performance in a 24/7 multi:facility manufacturing environment.

Duties, Responsibilities and Authority:

Provide direction to the EH and S staff with a focus on improving overall company
environmental/safety performance.
Ensure compliance with regulatory/permit requirements by
establishing/maintaining/improving inspection, maintenance, recordkeeping, monitoring, and training programs.
Manage Synthetic Minor and Title V compliance for multi:plant operations involving Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPs) and VOCs.
Manage Hazardous and Industrial waste, and maintain compliance with storm water permitting.
Ensure compliance with Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) and other chemical safety management requirements.
Ensure safety programs and policies are developed and maintained to the proper scope of the business.
Support management of Workers Compensation and Risk Insurance Programs.
Work with management team and create clear objectives and targets for environmental and safety performance at all levels with a focus on training.
Develop and implement a system of regular monitoring and reporting of EH and S performance.
Provide guidance and management direction on risk management issues and process safety management compliance.

Job Requirements / Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in technical discipline (Engineering, Science) with a minimum of 10 years experience required.
Previous management experience (:3 years) or full plant level responsibilities required.
Extensive knowledge of EPA, OSHA, NFPA requirements preferred.
Demonstrated experience in Title V Air Emissions
permitting/compliance required.
Working knowledge of TSCA regulations and requirements for chemical import/management.
Experience with OSHA Process Safety Management Standard preferred
Demonstrated experience in operation and maintenance of Air Pollution Control equipment preferred, specifically Thermal Oxidizers and/or solvent recovery.
Experience in Web Coating, Paper/Pulp Converting, or similar web:based coating or printing processes preferred.
Must be capable of working flexible hours to accommodate 24/7 manufacturing operation, including weekends, and on:call requirements.

Supervise: EH and S Supervisors
Physical Demands:
The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
