Job Description
A regional distributor of CNC machine tools, engineering, support services and related tooling and accessories, is seeking a Vice President of Operations to be located in the Charlotte, NC area or surrounding cities.
Job Responsibilities
The Vice President of Operations will report to the President. In this position, the right candidate will participate in developing an annual business plan and strategy for continued growth in all aspects of the business. Specifically, the role will provide leadership to field service, contracts, financial oversight, project fulfillment, parts supply and customer service. Direct reports will include Service Manager, parts Manager, Contracts Manager, Fulfillment Team Leader and internal support staff. The Vice President of Operations will, along with the staff and managers, take ownership of all activities within these departments and coordinate with other departments and resources when necessary to peruse timely business and gain efficiency. Other duties include, but are not limited to:
:Develop and promote a true customer focused culture in all departments
:Ensure all customer commitments are met/exceeded as committed
:Responsibility for the recruiting, management, performance and development of direct:reporting staff
:Lead, manage and create a culture of accountability with all direct reports
:Passionately peruse company defined goals
:Ensuring adherence to all company safety policies and procedures as well as evaluate those policies and make recommendations for improvements
:Review and define documented process/procedures within applicable departments as well as creating necessary
documents/checklists/forms
:Managing staff on a daily basis to ensure resources are effectively utilized
:Providing timely feedback to senior management regarding performance
:Delegate authority and responsibility with accountability and follow:up
:Set the example for the team in areas of personal character, commitment, organizational skills, and work habits
:Conduct regular coaching and counseling with direct reports
:Ownership of customer related problems and coordination with service and other departments when necessary for resolution to assure customer service satisfaction
:Develop and maintain partner relationships with our machine tool vendors
:Proactively identifying situations that might adversely affect our relationship with our customers
:Preparation of monthly financial reports, forecasts, etc.
:Ensuring maintenance and update of monthly and annual backlog, shipments and bookings
:Possessing and maintaining a basic knowledge of nomenclature of the machine tool industry and a specific product line represented by the company
:Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team
:Participating in meetings, seminars, and training sessions to stay apprised of new developments in field
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience in Related Field, Skills, etc.):
:7 to 10 years in mid:level to senior management
:Direct report experience
:Strong financial experience: accounting background preferred
:P and L accountability experience
:Intermediate to advanced level skills in software associated with Microsoft word processing, spreadsheets, and other related business programs, as required
:Exhibit excellent team work skills
