This mechanical engineer will be responsible for the design, installation, and startup of process equipment in any of the global SAC manufacturing plants. Candidates should have five or more years of engineering experience with demonstrated project management skills. Responsibilities will include development of new process, new line/equipment installations, modifications, retrofits, and development. Primary responsibilities include the following:
:Mechanical design and project engineering. This candidate must be able to work with a team of engineer(s) and designer(s) to identify potential issues, formulate, and implement creative solutions.
:Identify / develop / evaluate new technologies that can be incorporated into the existing processes to improve yield, increase throughput, and / or reduce cost.
:Develop and manage scope, budget and schedules for multiple projects.
:Communicate and coordinate internal manufacturing resources, internal product development resources, external suppliers, and contractors to successfully complete the project.
:Apply technical skills to all facets of the project (machine design, process layouts, equipment specification, process equipment checkout/startup, etc.)
:Some travel required.
:Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering required with preference to Master of Science degree.
:Five years of engineering and project management experience preferred which can be combined with relevant intern and co:op work.
:Strong desire and demonstrated ability to successfully develop and implement innovative designs or processes.
:Polymer science background is strongly preferred.
:Experience with extrusion and/or converting systems is a strongly desirable.
:Ability to effectively manage multiple projects to a successful completion
:Ability to manage and motivate a team of designer(s) and contractor(s).
:Ability to oversee the installation and startup of equipment at a production facility.
:Strong analytical skills to effectively identify and resolve problems throughout the project including startup.
:Skilled with Microsoft Project software and MS Office products.
:Strong design skills with 3D CAD (Solidworks preferred) and 2D (for layouts)
:Experience with engineering tools such as Solidworks Composer, Matlab, FEA / CFD Simulation, Driveworks, etc. a plus
:Excellent written and oral communication skills
:Good understanding of electromechanical systems: power transmission, servo motion applications, etc.
:PE license a plus.
