DEKRA Automotive North America is seeking a well-qualified automotive technician interested in moving their career in a new direction. The position consists of working in a clean office environment where your technical skills will be applied in a new way.

On behalf of a large dealer group customer, we are seeking to fill an Automotive Mechanical Warranty Adjuster position. The role of the Warranty Adjuster is to review mechanical warranty repairs (via telephone and digital image) submitted by the dealer group’s service departments and render a professions/expert decision on the need and appropriateness of the repair (under warranty).

This position will work directly for the dealer group in the Charlotte based Headquarters as a full-time employee. There is good room for advancement and travel in this position which is minimal.

We are looking for a Certified Master Technician with good communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in a multi-brand service environment including some technical experience with General Motors vehicles (Chevrolet is preferred). The position includes an attractive compensation package with relocation assistance (if required).

Job Duties

Talk (via phone) to technicians and service managers from the dealer group’s nationally based dealership service departments regarding warranty repairs.

Review recommended repairs via digital image and phone conversation to determine repair need and or cause of damage.

Advise the service provider of appropriate (covered) repair procedures.

Approve or deny submitted warranty claims.

Provide education and advice to the service provider on pending or future claims.

Work Environment

Office work environment.

Monday through Friday schedule with normal office hours.

Occasional Saturday work rotation (with following Monday off)

Paid vacation and holidays.

Desired Skills and Experience

Position Requirements

Strong automotive technical background. (5 to 7 years as a dealership technician)

Certified Master Technician (or able to reach Master level with one or two courses.)

Technical inspector experience is a plus.

Multi-Brand Service department experience is a strong plus.

Service Manager Experience is a plus.

Service Advisor Experience

Familiarity with Extended Warranties and/or Service Contracts

Proficient with Microsoft office applications.
