Charlotte, NC – November 10, 2009 ---- This is officially the best Party of the Year! The Black Women’s Health Network presents one of Charlotte’s premiere Black-Tie galas, The Live Jazz & Soul Food Fundraiser. We are “Partying With A Purpose” to support The Lifestyle Change Program on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at the Harvey B. Gantt Center for Arts & Culture in Uptown Charlotte located at 551 S. Tryon Street.
The Jazz & Soul Food Fundraiser is held annually to support "Lifestyle Change". This is a community based health and nutrition program designed to help prevent obesity, diabetes and heart disease among African American Women and Children through education, training and community awareness. The "Lifestyle Change" program will take its mobile unit to the Faith Based Community, Women's Groups and other community organizations to conduct: Disease Prevention/Treatment Workshops, Nutrition Education Classes, Cooking Classes, Stress Management Workshops and Physical Fitness Instruction.
